TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Course Description

“According to NBS (Nigeria Bureau of Statistics), tourism contributes 34% to Nigeria’s GDP, generates 20% employment in 2017.”

“Tourism is Nigeria’s future” – The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Tourism management is the oversight of all activities related to the tourism and hospitality industries. It is a multidisciplinary field that equips people with the interest, experience, and training for management positions in the food, accommodation, and tourism industry. Tourism management might also include the enterprises, associations, and public authorities that market tourism services to potential travelers.

The program particularly emphasizes the cultural and political aspects of tourism, its special models in different societies and its impact on the regional and global economy. It also prepares participants to plan a wide range of tourism activities and manage tourist products considering existing circumstances and conditions.

Students of this course will:

  • Have the opportunity to work in tourism organizations, ministries of tourism, tourist centers and can also establish their own tourism company.
  • Be taught how to package excursions and tours within and outside the country.
  • Learn core tourism courses relating to the department and also borrow courses in other departments.

Entry Requirements

B.SC., B.A, HND, OND, SSCE, GCE, NECO, and so on.

Students who are awaiting their results can also apply.

Duration

Six (6) Weeks of intensive lectures and training.

Mode of Lecture

  • Full time and Part time classes are available for students to choose the one that suite them.
  • Lecture time table is flexible to meet student’s free time.
  • Specially arranged classes with very short duration are also available on request with additional charges.
